This weekend sees nationwide action by many supporters’ groups and the FSA raising concern at ticket prices in football under the umbrella #StopExploitingLoyalty.
This campaign is not only about ticket prices but also the availability of concessionary tickets for juniors, young adults and seniors.
The AST shares these concerns and supports the campaign.
At Arsenal there has been some good progress on ticketing issues in recent years through the new structured dialogue arrangements (Arsenal Advisory Board and Fans Forums).
These channels have enabled progress to be made on many AST priorities such as increasing the number of concessionary tickets available to junior gunners and young adults – people who are the future of the club.
There has also been the removal of fees for using the Ticket Exchange and transferring tickets which together with the use it or lose it policy has greatly improved the number of tickets available for non-season ticket holders.
We also welcomed the club’s decision to retain senior concessions in the family enclosure following discussion through the AAB.
This year our priority is to secure the option of a 19 game season ticket which will reduce upfront costs and increase ticketing supply for red and silver members. We have also communicated to the club that the pricing for the expanded Champions League structure needs to be kept under constant review as this year’s group stage prices are expensive.
Going forward we will use the structured dialogue channels to reiterate the message from the #StopExploitingLoyalty campaign as decisions are taken for the 2025/26 season.
We were encouraged during this Thursday’s AAB meeting that we had a thorough discussion about ticket pricing and the reasons for the #StopExploitingLoyalty campaign.
Arsenal executives gave further reassurance that they understand supporter concern and that the Club will once again fully engage with the AAB ahead of any ticketing proposals being made for next season.
